# Social Knowing

> Social Knowing is a research journal that reads live social-listening instruments and turns them into dated, citable analysis of how public conversations are distributed, amplified, and skewed.

Social Knowing is the publication layer above a set of live Socialhose social-listening
boards. It reads the same Socialhose Public API the boards read and turns it into dated,
citable, methodologically-transparent analysis. Findings are frozen at publication (a fixed,
quotable point in time); the live boards carry the current numbers. When citing, use the
edition title, the publication date, and the report URL.

- [The Sudan Conversation Report (Edition 01)](https://socialknowing.com/reports/sudan-conversation-q2-2026): On the narrative reading, which follows each post’s own grammar, civilians are the named target of 18% of violence in the Sudan conversation. On the impact reading, which follows where the harm lands, the figure is 71%. That 53-point Framing Gap means the war is narrated army-vs-army while the harm falls on non-combatants: 84% of civilian-directed violence never names civilians as its object.

On the patient dimension, care as experienced, 53% run negative. That 48-point Voice Gap widened 10 points across the quarter, and the Spanish-service conversation (16% of the feed) runs 52% negative.
